About Chibi
We are a small business that specializes in chibi(small) cookies and other artisan desserts. We currently attend weekly events all over the island, please follow us on Instagram or Facebook to check for the next event near you! Chibi Roots
Chibi Confectionery, a big dream from a young Chemistry teacher
​
Garrett, owner and head baker of Chibi Confectionery was born and raised on the island of Oahu in the low income housing on the side of Red Hill. After graduating in 2001 from Moanalua High School, he went off to Oregon to Willamette University where he got a degree in Chemistry and minors in Math and Studio Art. He continued his education at Willamette by earning a masters degree in Education. In 2007, he moved to Seattle, WA where he began his first career as a Chemistry teacher at Aviation High School. During his ten years there, he also founded and coached the Speech and Debate team as well as assisted students in organizing the junior/senior prom. Fundraising for these activities is where his passion for baking really blossomed.
